Mary Connolly and Kathy Pieper (Ward) bring to Paideia a wealth
of expertise and experience in their respective fields; they have been committed to education in the Dallas area for years.
Their wide-ranging experience includes teaching LD-identified students as well as those identified as Gifted and Talented.
Mary Connolly has taught middle school and high school
science for over 20 years in Dallas area schools including Ursuline Academy of Dallas, Mesorah High School for Girls, and
Torah Day School of Dallas. She holds a B.S. in Biology from Centenary College of Louisiana and an M.S. in Science Education
from Texas Woman's University; her certification is a Professional Secondary Science Composite. She is a member of Phi
Delta Kappa and National Science Teachers Association. In addition to science, Mary has taught Algebra, AP Psychology, and
Health.
Kathy Pieper has been a math teacher and private tutor for over 15 years. Kathy most recently taught at
The Shelton School and has previously taught at Ursuline Academy of Dallas, Mesorah High School for Girls, Akiba Academy,
and Highland Park High School. She has a B.A. in Mathematics and Statistics from Miami University, and an M.A. in Teaching
Mathematical Science from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is certified in both Secondary Mathematics and Generic
Special Education.
